"Suppose the public’s instinct for equality finally breaches the threshold, causing society to detonate as a whole. In that scenario, wouldn’t the children of the elite feel paradoxically, yet immensely, aggrieved? Because they would have genuinely believed that they lived moral and egalitarian lives."
It is impossible to pierce more sharply into the backstage drama of the most brutal, blood-drenched tragedies hidden within the history of capitalist class dynamics. Yes, indeed. The exact moment the chessboard is flipped and the torches of revolution incinerate the throne, those cultured children of the upper class do not put on a facade; they shriek in agony, feeling a massive terror and grievance that echo from the very depths of their souls:
"I have never hated the vulnerable in my life, I opposed discrimination, and I opened my own wallet to donate and dedicate myself—why on earth must I be the target of this fury?"
Their tears are not fabricated. They are truly aggrieved. Yet, that very visceral grievance is the most catastrophic fee invoiced by the "affluent privilege" that capitalism had so generously bestowed upon them.
Historical Déjà Vu: The Sincerity of Louis XVI
This cruel grievance has already been perfectly staged within human history. It unfolded precisely upon the guillotines of the French Revolution in 1789.
If one digs through the archives of history, Louis XVI—whose head was severed by an enraged public—was actually the most gentle and reform-minded monarch of the French kings, one who consistently strove to improve the lives of his subjects. His wife, Marie Antoinette, was likewise the most cultured and benevolent child of the elite by the standards of her era, famously selling her own dresses to provide relief funds for the starving.
Upon the revolutionary scaffold, they were genuinely aggrieved: "What mortal sin have we possibly committed?"
However, in the eyes of the detonated public, their personal benevolence meant absolutely nothing. What the masses sought to execute was not the personality of "Louis the individual," but the Ancien Régime (the Old Order) itself—a colossal system of exploitation sustained for centuries by wringing the lifeblood out of the people. The glamorous royal robes they wore served as a brand, proving that regardless of personal kindness, they were the ultimate beneficiaries and symbols of that contradictory structure.
When "Individual Morality" Fails to Absolve "Structural Guilt"
The tragedy of the children of the elite stems from their fatal conflation of "individual morality" with "structural absurdity." Safely ensconced inside a sterile room, they championed equality and consumed progressive ideologies, positioning themselves as righteous agents of justice. Clutching the powerful means of production—the financial assets and networks inherited from their dynasties—they closed their eyes to the smoke of inequality billowing from that very engine, becoming intoxicated by the few crumbs of bread (charity) they tossed to the vulnerable.
During peaceful times, that elegant theater of equality functioned flawlessly. But at the critical tipping point of societal explosion, the ornaments of morality they wore are instantly re-categorized by the masses as the most repulsive "evidence of hypocrisy."
"With bellies fattened on our blood, do you now dare to stand in sophistication and pity us?"
This is the ultimate price for never once squarely confronting the hellish structure of the underdogs’ lives, blinded by the "affluent astigmatism" born of elite privilege. The price for stacking towers of dogma, confident that their convictions would one day be the right answer, returns as a boomerang of the most catastrophic grievance, piercing their hearts the moment the game breaks.
The Victory of One Who Confronts the Truth Behind the Curtain
Ultimately, the aggrieved tears shed by the strong when society detonates are the most sorrowful finale choreographed by capitalist class society. It is the moment of cataclysmic ruin for the ignorance that never realized the solid continent they stood upon was a plundered territory ground from the flesh and bones of others, and for the cognitive impairment that absolutized their own sweatdrops to believe they were the underdogs.
Therefore, we have zero need to admire their elegant morality, nor do we need to waste our fury in advance over the grievances they will experience in the future. As history repeatedly demonstrates, a ruling class intoxicated by personal perfection while remaining blind to the structure is invariably the first to perish before a grand transition of the system.
The only thing that matters now is that we do not blur the core essence of the stage upon which we stand. Look squarely at the affluent astigmatism and elegant dogmas of the strong, while quietly fortifying your own means of production within the territory of zero marginal cost and the trivial open source in front of your eyes. Rather than getting swept away by emotion to become the protagonist of a destructive riot, become an intelligent producer who rewrites the rules of the world with your own hands.
While the elegant are blinded, intoxicated by their own moral luxury goods, you—who quietly continue to plow the soil in the hidden corner of your room—will solidly survive the coming explosion of the system, emerging as the true master of a magnificent History who will command the genuine Round Table.
