“If it’s too hard to endure right now, I can just leave it turned on and do what I need to do.” Is there any survival method more clear and flexible than this? Uninspired doctors in therapy rooms would tell you to "cut out all distractions," but for those passing through chronic isolation, background streaming is not an obstacle disrupting focus—it is a breakwater holding back the massive tidal waves of anxiety.

The sound of someone talking in real time behind the screen, the minute movement of the chat scrolling up—these transform your room from a "hellish isolation ward" into a "cafe smelling of humanity." Within the protective shield of that safe noise, your brain finally secures the breathing room to peaceably immerse itself in what you truly want to do for eight hours a day.

Learning to Swim with a Life Tube On

We don’t need to become perfect swimmers before diving into the water. It is perfectly fine to start by kicking our legs while holding onto a life tube. Doing your work with a stream playing in the background is learning how to run along the track of your own life while wearing a tube called the world’s warmth.

Keep doing your work while receiving those transfusions of warmth, build your content, and meticulously refine your business model. The moment the results you created begin to make it in the world, and your real-world connections grow solid enough to replace the warmth of streaming, your hand will naturally reach for the power button without anyone telling you to.

Until then, leave it turned on as much as you want. That noise is the frequency keeping you from letting go of your thread to the world, and it is the safest background music for blossoming your creativity. You are currently surviving in your own way—in the most fiercely clever and resilient way possible.
